Options trading added for certain ETFs, Corey Hoffstein reveals
Options launched for select ETFs by Cboe

Corey Hoffstein notes that obtaining options listings for an ETF largely involves submitting a request to Cboe.

As a result, options trading is now enabled for some of the ETFs managed by the group.

Hoffstein has previously cited new research showing that high active share funds have delivered negative alpha since 2009, indicating a shift in fund performance patterns (Corey Hoffstein: High active share now linked to negative alpha since 2009). He also noted the rapid rise of levered single-name ETFs, which grew from zero to $65 billion in assets over four years (Levered single-name ETFs rise to $65 billion, Corey Hoffstein notes). These developments provide further context on recent activity in ETF and options markets.
