Uniswap adds trade watermarking to meet EU compliance, Hayden Adams notes
Uniswap changes trade routing for EU

Hayden Adams commented that Uniswap will now watermark trades by changing its routing to comply with a European Union law.

He noted that, as a result, Uniswap will no longer always select the best possible route for trades. Adams jokingly stated this adjustment has no practical effect on execution quality, provided one redefines what is considered practical.

Adams previously noted that concentrated liquidity solutions now account for most onchain trading activity, with v4 hooks enabling rapid market creation on Uniswap here. He also disclosed that early versions of TradePools’ smart contracts drove $150 million in trading volume before the user interface was made public here. Both developments illustrate Adams’ focus on Uniswap’s technical and market evolution.
