AI hardware linked to S&P 500 outperformance, Phil Rosen notes
AI hardware drives S&P 500 outperformance

Phil Rosen notes that nine of the ten top-performing S&P 500 stocks over the last year are connected to AI hardware.

He highlights that while Micron achieved a 721% return, this figure is overshadowed by Sandisk's 3,342% surge over a 12-month period. Compared to these gains, the S&P 500's 18% return appears minimal on the same chart.

Phil Rosen has previously reported that Target outperformed other major retail stocks over the last year while Lowe's and Home Depot declined. In another note, Rosen pointed out that the stock-bond correlation has stayed positive for 68 straight months. Both trends add context to the recent dominance of AI hardware stocks in equity performance.
