Chamath Palihapitiya on Ant IPO priorities

Chamath Palihapitiya, founder and CEO of Social Capital, said it is more important for Ant to go public and secure $200 billion in funding than to focus on optimizing valuation.

Palihapitiya added that his estimate for the market clearing price was around $1 trillion a few weeks ago and that he maintains this outlook.

Palihapitiya has previously indicated that the final phase of his external capital management is approaching after years in venture capital, with the process nearing completion as noted in recent comments. He has also identified significant consolidation trends emerging in solar and battery industries, referencing similarities to past shifts in the natural gas sector as reported in previous remarks. His latest comments on Ant’s funding priorities continue his pattern of market-focused guidance.
