Bitcoin Wrench Attack archive tops 700 cases

The archive tracking Bitcoin Wrench Attacks has become significantly more accurate and now includes over 700 documented attacks after hundreds of new reports were added.

Jameson Lopp, board member at Casa, highlighted that this update resulted from extensive research efforts. Lopp credited @pizza_bitcoiner for uncovering many of the previously unreported attacks through targeted searches.

Lopp has previously addressed persistent risks in bitcoin security. He argued that third-party bitcoin custody through ETFs does not eliminate the risk of loss. Lopp has also criticized the ongoing trend of users migrating funds between centralized providers after security failures, as reported in his analysis of mass migrations following provider lapses.
