Bitcoin, Security, and Technology by Jameson Lopp

Jameson Lopp is a veteran Bitcoin engineer, educator, and privacy advocate who co-founded Casa, a secure Bitcoin custody platform. Known for developing multisignature wallet solutions and home Bitcoin node products, Lopp has worked to make self-custody more accessible to the general public. He is a regular speaker at cryptocurrency conferences and has written extensively on operational security, privacy tools, and the technical underpinnings of Bitcoin.

Lopp grew up in North Carolina and studied computer science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He began his Bitcoin career at BitGo in 2015, building wallet infrastructure for institutional clients. In 2017, he became a target of a swatting attack due to his outspoken Bitcoin advocacy, an incident that reinforced his commitment to privacy and personal security. Lopp maintains Statoshi.info, a public analytics dashboard for Bitcoin network performance. His blend of technical skill, personal resilience, and public education has made him one of the most trusted figures in the Bitcoin community.
