Edward Dowd: U.S. long bond yields peaked on October 7, significant cycle high possible
U.S. bond yields may have peaked

U.S. long bond yields, specifically the 30-year, peaked on October 7, according to Edward Dowd, founding partner at OceanSquare Asset Mgmt and former BlackRock executive.

Dowd stated that while more structural technical evidence is needed, there is a very good chance that this marks a significant cycle high in yields.

Dowd has previously called the consumer economy weak while identifying AI infrastructure expansion as the central area of current focus, as reported in an earlier article. He has also questioned statements regarding the cost of capital in the AI sector, disputing remarks by Nvidia’s CEO on CoreWeave’s financing environment in a separate report. Both comments reflect Dowd’s continued monitoring of credit markets and funding costs.
