Peter Spina: India lifts silver import ban and allows 209 million troy ounces for next six months
India permits large silver imports

India has removed its ban on silver imports, permitting the import of 209 million troy ounces over the next six months.

Peter Spina reported that after nearly all silver imports were restricted in mid-May, domestic supplies became tight and premiums over the spot price increased. He added that silver premiums have since collapsed from prior elevated levels.

Spina previously described silver as a strong buy at current prices, noting rising mining costs and higher all-in sustaining costs in the sector in an earlier report. In a separate article, he covered Black Mammoth Metals' debut on the U.S. Nasdaq and its C$24 million funding round, with the company's portfolio focused in the Western U.S. His coverage follows continued interest in precious metals amid changing market conditions.
