AI boom faces U.S. election test

Spiros Margaris, founder and owner of Margaris Ventures, said the current artificial intelligence boom faces a new test from upcoming U.S. elections, which could slow data center growth and raise concerns over high costs.

In his view, these challenges represent a temporary setback rather than an end to the AI market surge.

Margaris previously reported that Bank of America hired 1,000 extra contractors to address AI-driven security issues. He also noted AI demand has caused memory chip prices to increase fivefold, leading Apple to face a projected $25 billion storage bill. These developments illustrate ongoing cost and operational pressures tied to the expansion of artificial intelligence.
