Apple faces $25 billion storage cost as memory chip prices rise, Spiros Margaris notes
AI demand lifts memory chip prices for Apple

AI demand is reshaping the chip industry, with memory chip prices rising fivefold as AI companies increase their purchases. Apple, which previously paid much lower prices for memory chips, may now have to pay $25 billion for storage that cost $6 billion last year.

Spiros Margaris observed that even Apple is unable to avoid the higher prices resulting from increased demand in the chip market.

Earlier, Spiros Margaris reported that Anthropic saw its revenue multiply nearly 15 times in one year as AI activity accelerated. He also noted that Bank of America hired 1,000 extra contractors to address AI-driven security issues. These developments reflect the mounting pressures and costs linked to the surge in AI adoption.
