Fintech and AI Trends from Spiros Margaris

Spiros Margaris is one of those rare figures in fintech who blends investment instinct with broad public influence. As the founder of Margaris Ventures, he has backed and advised startups that span AI, blockchain, and decentralized finance, many of which have grown into category leaders. Margaris first became known for being the only person to simultaneously top influencer rankings in fintech, AI, and blockchain. But what truly sets him apart is how accessible he makes future-of-finance ideas through tweets, essays, and speeches that resonate with industry insiders and everyday investors alike.

As of 2025, Margaris holds advisory or board roles in over 15 companies, including several late-stage startups and unicorns. Collectively, his portfolio has raised more than $600 million. He remains a fixture at conferences like Money 20/20 and Finovate, where he shares insights on financial inclusion, tech ethics, and the evolution of digital money. Three companies in his portfolio have surpassed the $1 billion mark, including a digital wealth firm now managing over $50 billion in assets. In the past year, he also co-launched a fintech accelerator in Switzerland backed by UBS and Credit Suisse, and contributed to a policy report on DeFi for the World Economic Forum. Margaris is not just talking about the future, he’s helping build it.
