BT Group shares break out of five-week range
Buyers have taken control after several weeks of sideways trading. A sustained move above the key technical zone opens the way towards important resistance at GBX 210.
BT Group shares have broken out of a five-week consolidation, signalling a gradual improvement in market sentiment following the mixed reaction to the company’s quarterly results.
The shares have gained more than 6% since 27 July, with the move driven primarily by technical factors rather than a fresh corporate catalyst.

BT Group targets GBX 210 after a bullish breakout
The bullish scenario outlined in the previous analysis has finally been confirmed. BT Group shares broke out of the GBX 191–200 range, cleared the psychological GBX 200 level and the 200-day SMA, and then held above this zone.An inverse head-and-shoulders pattern provides additional confirmation of the recovery. The break above its neckline has strengthened bullish momentum.
The next target for buyers is resistance near GBX 210. A decisive breakout and daily close above this level could accelerate the rally towards the GBX 220–225 zone.
GBX 200 becomes the key support
The move out of the five-week consolidation has improved BT Group’s medium-term technical outlook. As long as the shares remain above GBX 200, the bullish scenario remains the base case.A move back below this level would signal a false breakout and renew the risk of a decline towards GBX 191.
