Will Tesla stock extend its rebound ahead of SpaceX earnings?
TSLA rebounds ahead of SpaceX earnings.

Tesla shares continue to recover despite an investigation and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the company’s Chinese operations. SpaceX’s earnings report and the upcoming share unlock could add further volatility to TSLA.

The key development for Tesla was the NHTSA investigation into nearly 1.2 million Model 3 and Model Y vehicles over a potential front suspension component detachment. The regulator has received 156 complaints, although no crashes, injuries, or fatalities have been reported so far.

Additional attention was drawn to speculation that Tesla could separate its Chinese business to facilitate a potential merger with SpaceX. Elon Musk dismissed the report as inaccurate, but discussion of a possible integration between the companies continued to influence investor sentiment.

Tesla stock eyes $337 as oversold rebound continues

TSLA shares continue to recover from the post-earnings sell-off. As noted previously, $314 remains the key level.

A decisive breakout and sustained hold above this threshold would increase the probability of a move toward $320. If bullish momentum persists, the next target could be $337.

The RSI (14) remains in oversold territory, providing additional support for the rebound scenario.

However, short-term risks remain, and Tesla shares could retest the psychological $300 level.

SpaceX catalysts may increase volatility in Tesla stock

On August 4, SpaceX will release its first quarterly earnings report since going public. As early as August 6, two trading days after the results, the first share unlock could begin, allowing holders of up to 911.5 million shares, or approximately 20% of the restricted stock, to sell their holdings.

The earnings report and the sharp potential increase in share supply could significantly raise volatility in SPCX. Given both companies’ close association with Elon Musk and continued speculation about a possible merger, a strong move in SpaceX shares could spill over into TSLA through the so-called Musk trade.
