Investor confidence rises on federal contracts and debt restructuring

CoreWeave, a specialized AI cloud infrastructure provider, recently announced a partnership with Leidos Holdings to deliver AI cloud services to U.S. federal agencies, targeting defense and intelligence workloads. The company secured an $8.5 billion loan facility and completed a loan restructuring, which has been viewed as a show of lender confidence in ongoing infrastructure expansion. Institutional investors such as ARK Invest and the California State Teachers Retirement System increased their stakes, while CoreWeave reported 112% year-over-year revenue growth and a $100 billion revenue backlog, alongside ongoing contracts with technology majors Meta and Microsoft.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the rally in CoreWeave as driven primarily by positive news flow and speculative interest. He notes the stock’s failure to reclaim its 50- and 200-day moving averages as a persistent technical risk. Kharitonov highlights that momentum signals remain weak, and the surge has not reversed the overall bearish trend. Despite strong institutional support and revenue growth, he is skeptical about the sustainability of recent gains amid prevailing sell signals and weak ADX. "Any long exposure should be short-term only as downside risks remain dominant in the current setup," Kharitonov warns.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, emphasizes the strategic importance of CoreWeave’s new federal partnerships and robust institutional backing. He sees further growth potential supported by a strong $100 billion revenue backlog and year-over-year expansion. Karapetjanc notes that the recent loan facility and investor inflows signal confidence in long-term infrastructure capability. Constructive fundamentals outweigh short-term technical weakness in his view. "Bullish structure remains intact and I expect CoreWeave to attract further institutional flows over the medium term," Karapetjanc states.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, observes a technical rebound, but warns that momentum indicators and trend strength remain muted. He notes the current range between $83.55 and $85.98 could offer tactical short-term setups for active traders. Mehta highlights the high probability of a downward move given the prevailing sell signals. "A break below $76.76 may trigger fresh downside and present a tactical shorting opportunity," Mehta advises.

Weak upward momentum amid mixed signals and technical resistance

CoreWeave is currently trading above its 20-day moving average at $77.9 but remains below both the 50-day ($93.75) and 200-day ($94.83) moving averages, indicating a rebound within a broader medium- and long-term bearish trend. The nearest support is located at $83.55 (Ichimoku Kijun), while resistance is established by today’s intraday high at $85.98. Momentum indicators are mixed: both the MACD and RSI suggest weak momentum and a sell bias, with the CCI also reflecting additional selling pressure. The ADX is low at 18.37, signaling weak trend strength. The Stochastic RSI and Bull/Bear Power (BBP) both flag overbought conditions, and BBP's positive value highlights intraday buyer control.

Earlier, analysts noted that CoreWeave's shares were experiencing heightened volatility and negative momentum amid ongoing financial and technical pressures. The latest partnership announcement and loan restructuring add a fresh catalyst to the narrative but do not resolve longer-term bearish risks, leaving traders focused on whether new contract momentum is enough to shift the medium-term trend from weak consolidation to a sustained recovery.
