Grifols holds near €10 as investors reassess turnaround
Holding above €10.06 could reopen the path toward €10.80.

Grifols remains in a re-rating phase following its July earnings report, with a strong breakout from a six-month consolidation giving way to more cautious trading around €10.

Following the H1 results, investors continue to assess whether the improvement in Grifols’ financial performance can support a further re-rating of the shares. The company ended the first half with revenue of €3.6 billion, while net profit rose 28.7% to €227 million and pre-M&A free cash flow came in at around €91 million. Leverage also declined to 4.2x, although debt remains one of the key factors in the investment case.

Broader sentiment across the pharmaceutical sector could also provide additional support for Grifols. Following Moderna’s explosive rally on positive Phase 3 results, investors have become more attentive to relatively undervalued pharma and biotech companies where a strong clinical or financial catalyst can quickly trigger a sharp re-rating.

€10.06 becomes the key breakout level

Grifols shares broke out of a six-month consolidation and climbed to €10.80, but the price corrected after earnings and is now holding around €10.

For today’s session, the key resistance is a short-term descending trend line near €10.06.

A decisive break and sustained move above this level would increase the probability of another advance toward the €10.60–10.80 area.

If buyers fail to clear €10.06, the risk of a deeper correction would increase. In that case, the next important target would be the 50-day SMA near €9.57.

Improving fundamentals put Grifols’ recovery to the test

The breakout from the six-month consolidation suggests that market sentiment toward Grifols is gradually improving, but after the initial strong move, the shares have entered a more demanding phase.

Improved headline earnings alone may no longer be enough. Investors will increasingly look for further free cash flow growth, a sustained decline in leverage and evidence that the recovery in profitability is structural rather than temporary.
