Shares of AMD opened the session with a gap up from $465.59 to $475.85 and have since retraced a portion of those gains. The price structure remains mixed, with shares trading below the MA-20 and MA-50 but holding above the MA-200. Stoch RSI is nearing oversold territory, which can limit further downside and support a stabilization of prices. The nearest support lies at the weekly low of $465.36.
Traders should watch for signs that buyers are willing to follow through, which would be indicated by a close above $481.92, or for a move to be faded with a drop below $465.36. After the initial gap-up from $465.59 to $475.85, AMD stock has pulled back, indicating some indecision. Even so, the recent move has been contained within a narrow range over the past week. Over the next five trading days, there is a 24% probability of upside and a 76% chance of downside, with an expected trading range between $457.76 and $480.27. On the weekly chart, the longer-term picture stays constructive.
Earlier, analysts noted that AMD faced ongoing technical pressures despite steady ETF-driven inflows and a focus on AI infrastructure. The newly announced $10 billion partnership and global AI buildout with Saudi partners adds further strategic depth, but with shares contained in a narrow range, traders should monitor the $465.36 weekly low for signs of a shift in market direction.
