AMD opened IFA Berlin 2026 with a keynote from Jack Huynh, head of the Computing and Graphics Group. The main theme was Personal AI and the expanding role of local AI computing across PCs and other consumer devices. The company is positioning Ryzen AI, graphics and local inference as another growth avenue beyond the data center.

AMD needs $470–480 to shift momentum bullish

As noted earlier, AMD was facing short-term selling pressure. The stock has since managed to defend key support at $452, while a sustained break below this level would have significantly increased the risk of a move toward the next support area around $423.

Despite the rebound from $452, AMD remains below its medium-term descending trend line. For the short-term structure to turn bullish, the stock needs to break decisively above the $470–480 area.

For today’s session, the base target is a move toward $475. Elevated macroeconomic volatility, however, could quickly alter the setup, leaving $452 as the key level to watch.

Jobs report could trigger another volatility spike

The U.S. jobs report for August could add significant volatility to AMD today. Consensus expectations point to around 53,000 new jobs after a decline of 23,000 in July, with the unemployment rate expected to remain at 4.1%.

For AMD, stronger-than-expected payrolls could become a negative catalyst if markets once again increase expectations of a more restrictive Fed policy stance and Treasury yields move higher. Weaker data, by contrast, could provide additional support for growth stocks.
