Bearish momentum confirmed as technical support and oscillators break down

GEN is trading below the MA-20 ($27.64) and MA-50 ($29.29) on the hourly chart, as well as below the MA-200 ($24.79) on the daily timeframe. Resistance is established at the Ichimoku Kijun level of $27.88. Momentum signals remain weak: MACD and ADX are on sell, while the RSI is at 22.16, deeply oversold. Both CCI and Bull/Bear Power indicators confirm the dominance of sellers. Stochastic RSI and the Awesome Oscillator are neutral, offering no reinforcement of current downside. Intraday signals display pronounced bearish consistency and high volatility, with no marked divergences across oscillators.

Further losses favored as volatility and downward risk persist

Over the next 2–3 trading days, GEN is expected to trade within a broad volatility band from $22.58 to $26.39. The likelihood of a significant upward reversal is very low, while further deterioration below support remains likely. If the price consolidates, it may drift sideways within this range, but a break above $27.88 could lead to a short-term retracement higher. Conversely, a move below $22.58 would signal a further extension of the prevailing downtrend.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, notes that Gen Digital remains under strong selling pressure with momentum indicators deeply oversold. He sees the prevailing downtrend as intact, as the price continues to trade below key moving averages and resistance levels. Short-term upside attempts are unlikely to break the bearish sentiment unless a move above $27.88 occurs. In his words: "With sellers firmly in control and no positive news drivers, I anticipate further downside or sideways movement for GEN in the near term."

Earlier, analysts noted that Gen Digital exhibited persistent bearish momentum with downside risk dominating technical forecasts. The current analysis reinforces this outlook, highlighting continued vulnerability below major resistance and advising traders to monitor the risk of further breakdown should the $22.58 level fail to hold.
