Coinbase announced a series of new features available as of September 2026, including the ability for U.S. users to request IPO shares, use AI-driven trading via Grok, access prediction markets through Coinbase Wallet, borrow against HYPE and ZEC, and trade Cashtags directly from X.
In September 2026, Coinbase published several platform and product updates broadening its range of trading and investment features. U.S. users gained the ability to request IPO shares directly in the Coinbase app, marking the platform’s move into primary equity access. Agentic trading via Grok, an AI agent, accounted for a significant portion of automated trading activity following its public launch, and users could also access prediction markets through Coinbase Wallet. Additional updates included the ability for eligible U.S. clients (with some state exclusions) to secure USDC loans using HYPE and ZEC as collateral, executed using wrapped tokens on the Base network and an integrated on-chain lending protocol. Global trading fees on Coinbase Advanced were also lowered and simplified, with changes to fee structures and additional benefits for USDC holders and Coinbase One members, according to the company’s published updates.
