Private market data deals and dividend hike boost positive sentiment

FactSet recently announced a partnership with Nasdaq Private Market to integrate verified Cap Table data, further expanding its private company, funding, and M&A datasets. In early October 2026, the company also deepened its collaboration with Scotia Wealth Management, embedding its research and portfolio tools into Scotia's investment platforms. FactSet’s latest adjusted earnings per share reached $4.52, exceeding forecasts, and organic annual subscription value grew by 7.0%. The company raised its quarterly dividend to $1.16 per share, extending its record to 27 consecutive years of dividend increases.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that FactSet’s sharp rally is underpinned by strong technicals and positive earnings but caution is warranted. He highlights the overbought readings in most momentum indicators and sees elevated risk of profit-taking if $326.93 breaks. Kharitonov also questions the pace of growth versus the valuation after 27 years of dividend increases. He remains skeptical about the sustainability of the current bullish impulse, citing volatility and crowded long positioning. "Such moves often tempt late buyers, but I would be defensive at these levels until price and momentum cool off," says Kharitonov.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees FactSet’s fundamental picture greatly improved after strong earnings, new partnerships, and a consistent dividend hike. He believes organic annual subscription value growth and data expansion reinforce institutional confidence. Karapetjanc points out that the market’s bullish structure remains intact with robust momentum and strategic collaborations. In his view, further growth is likely as demand and innovation converge. "Given these catalysts, FactSet’s market offers multiple bullish setups for long-term investors," says Karapetjanc.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, acknowledges FactSet’s momentum but warns that overbought signals and high intraday volatility could precede a short-term setback. He emphasizes broader macro uncertainty and the risk of quick reversals if bullish sentiment fades. Dele remains unconvinced by the persistent upward trend at stretched levels. "Traders chasing strength here should watch price action closely in case momentum unwinds rapidly," warns Dele.

Bullish momentum persists amid overbought signals and strong support

FDS trades firmly above its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at $284.44, $287.44, and $249.30, reflecting strong bullish momentum across all timeframes. The nearest resistance is at $351.15, while immediate support aligns with today’s high at $338.73. Momentum indicators remain bullish: the MACD signals a buy, the Average Directional Index (ADX) is neutral, and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 70.74, Stochastic RSI at 100, and Commodity Channel Index (CCI) at 159.08 all signal overbought conditions. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) of 24.14 reflects strong buyer dominance intraday, with the Awesome Oscillator (AO) also supporting the upward trend. The stock is up $19.13, with an opening gap of 0.99% and pronounced intraday volatility at 5.29%, indicating persistent strength toward session highs and strong demand post-open. Overbought signals are notable, but price action remains aligned with bullish momentum.

Earlier, analysts noted that FactSet faced sustained selling pressure despite strong fundamental performance, as technical barriers capped upside potential. The current surge above all key moving averages signals a marked shift in momentum, with traders now watching for a decisive move beyond $351.15 as the next potential breakout level.
