Netflix shares face further downside risk as technical indicators weaken
Netflix faces further declines

Netflix shares have already fallen by about a third this year, and technical signals suggest the stock may face additional pressure. The recent weakness follows disappointing company guidance, with traders now watching several support levels that could shape the next leg of the move.

Highlights

  • Netflix shares have traded around key support at $61–$62, with a breakdown potentially targeting the $54.50–$55 and $48–$50 zones according to structural and Fibonacci levels.
  • Technical indicators including MACD, RSI, and Bollinger Bands signal increased downside momentum and volatility, collectively supporting a bearish outlook for Netflix shares.
  • A decisive rally above the $73–$73.50 area would negate the current bearish technical setup and reduce expectations for further declines.

Support levels point to possible further declines

As reported by Reuters, Netflix shares have recently been trading around support near $61 and $62, an area that combines structural support with a Fibonacci retracement level.

If the stock falls decisively below that range, market participants may start to expect a move toward the $54.50 to $55 zone and then the $48 to $50 area. Those levels are tied to previous highs and lows, while a further layer of support sits around $44, where another Fibonacci level aligns with structural support, according to LSEG data.

Technical analysts typically look for price floors when assessing whether a declining stock can stabilise. Past peaks and troughs often form structural support, and when those levels overlap with Fibonacci retracements, traders tend to view the zone as more significant.

Momentum and volatility gauges reinforce bearish view

Several commonly used technical tools also indicate the potential for more losses in Netflix shares. These include Moving Average Convergence Divergence, or MACD, which compares moving averages to assess selling pressure, and the Relative Strength Index, or RSI, which tracks the speed of recent price changes to measure strength or weakness.

Bollinger Bands, a volatility measure built around a stock's moving average, also point to pressure as price swings widen. Taken together, the three indicators support a bearish outlook, although markets rarely move in a straight line and the stock could fluctuate before establishing a clearer direction.

A rally above the $73 to $73.50 area would cast serious doubt on the case for a further downward move. Netflix did not immediately respond to a request for comment submitted through the company's media portal.

Our earlier article on Micron Technology’s fading rally outlined how the stock slipped below a rising wedge on the weekly chart, a pattern that often signals a turn toward losses. We also noted that momentum gauges such as RSI and MACD were trending lower, with downside targets mapped at successive support zones unless Micron can reclaim key resistance levels that would weaken the bearish setup.
