Jim Cramer backs JPMorgan, Chevron and Cardinal Health in latest stock calls
Cramer's top stock picks

During CNBC's rapid-fire "Lightning Round" segment, Jim Cramer gives a fresh set of stock views across banking, energy, healthcare, retail and technology. His picks favor established companies with stronger earnings profiles, while he stays cautious on higher-risk names and several consumer and streaming plays.

Highlights

  • Jim Cramer calls JPMorgan Chase a 'great bank' and Chevron the top oil company, recommending both stocks as buys.
  • Cramer expresses bullish views on Cardinal Health and notes Ameriprise Financial's year-to-date decline presents a buying opportunity.
  • Risk aversion guides Cramer's cautious stance on speculative names like D-Wave Quantum and Trinity Capital, emphasizing strong earnings amid current market conditions.

Stock picks from the latest lightning round

As reported by CNBC, the "Mad Money" host says JPMorgan Chase is "a great bank" and praises Chief Executive Jamie Dimon, while also calling Chevron the top oil company in the world and the one to buy.

Cramer also gives bullish views on Cardinal Health, calling it "a winner," and on VF Corp, saying the stock goes higher. On Ameriprise Financial, he says there has been "no real bad time" to own the shares and argues the stock's decline this year creates a buying opportunity.

He is more measured on Okta, saying Chief Executive Todd McKinnon does a terrific job, while grouping the company with CrowdStrike and Palo Alto as well-run names.

Earnings focus shapes cautious calls

Risk control is a recurring theme in Cramer's comments, particularly for more speculative stocks. On D-Wave Quantum, he says the current environment requires investors to focus on companies with very strong earnings and adds that moving down the risk spectrum is too dangerous right now.

He also declines to endorse Trinity Capital, saying its 11.5% yield makes him nervous and that he cannot opine because he does not know what the company owns. For Netflix, he says recent quarters have been "ho-hum" and adds that he is not a buyer after concerns that followed the Warner Bros. Discovery bid discussion.

In retail, Cramer says Burlington Stores remains in the middle of the pack and needs another quarter before a clearer view emerges. He adds that TJX remains the preferred holding for the club, while Ross is currently the strongest name on the street.

Walmart’s upgrade to a buy and the raised $136 price target highlighted how persistent inflation is reinforcing the retailer’s value proposition and market share gains. Our earlier coverage noted that higher-margin businesses, automation, and Walmart’s digital expansion—such as its AI-powered Sparky shopping assistant—are seen as potential drivers of improving margins and further upside for the stock.
