Richard Byworth is Managing Partner at SyzCapital Digital and previously served as CEO of Eqonex, a NASDAQ-listed crypto financial services company. At Eqonex, Byworth oversaw the launch of an exchange, custody platform, and asset management arm. During his leadership, the firm secured approval as a licensed custodian in Singapore and grew assets under custody to more than USD 200 million by 2021. He also structured Eqonex’s SPAC merger and subsequent NASDAQ listing, a landmark move for crypto-native firms entering public markets.

Before Eqonex, Byworth spent two decades in investment banking at Nomura, holding senior roles in equity derivatives. At SyzCapital Digital, he leads institutional strategies for tokenized assets and regulated custody. His commentary has appeared in Bloomberg, CNBC, and Reuters, where he addresses Bitcoin ETF flows, regulatory arbitrage, and institutional DeFi. Byworth has spoken at more than 25 global conferences, including Hong Kong FinTech Week and Digital Asset Summit.
