Startup Leadership and Crypto Investment by Vinny Lingham

Vinny Lingham is co-founder and Chairman of Civic, a blockchain identity platform designed to give users control over digital credentials. Previously, he co-founded Gyft, sold for $54 million in 2014, and was a General Partner at Multicoin Capital, helping direct early funding into Solana, Filecoin, and Render. He also co-founded Newtown Partners, a venture capital firm supporting blockchain innovation.

Nicknamed the “Bitcoin Oracle,” Lingham became well-known for accurately forecasting market cycles, including Bitcoin’s 2017 correction. In 2024 and 2025, he has advised multiple Web3 ventures on token economics and identity frameworks while serving on panels at Davos and global blockchain summits.

Lingham’s estimated net worth is about $5 million, though his broader financial influence stems from equity positions in projects now valued in the billions. He has helped raise more than $200 million for blockchain startups through direct and indirect involvement. His achievements include building global trust in blockchain identity, scaling venture portfolios, and shaping governance practices for decentralized protocols.
