Tyler Winklevoss challenges Harvard on federal funding
In a recent tweet, Tyler Winklevoss, co-founder of Gemini and noted investor, challenged Harvard University's reliance on federal funding.
Winklevoss suggests Harvard could emulate Grove City College, which operates independently without federal financial aid. He addressed the choice between maintaining independence and benefiting from taxpayer dollars, stating, ''You cannot have it both ways.''
This comment comes at a time when the discussions around the balance of autonomy and accountability in higher education institutions are gaining momentum.
Harvard University, being one of the wealthiest educational institutions globally, often faces scrutiny over its financial practices and policies.
Representatives from Harvard have yet to respond publicly to Winklevoss's remarks.
