Jack Dorsey to introduce location-based chat on Bitchat
Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, announced an upcoming feature for Bitchat: location-based chat functionality.
The platform will soon enable users to interact with individuals in particular geographical areas, ranging from their block to their country, as shared by Dorsey via a tweet. The feature will utilize geohashing technology to create distinct chat channels based on geographic areas, promoting local and global connectivity.
In addition to chatting with people nearby, users will be able to 'teleport' by joining conversation channels maps to specific geohashes worldwide, each with a unique pseudonym per geohash, ensuring privacy and dynamic interactions.
