Vantage Markets review: Seven crypto pairs enter close-only phase
Vantage Markets has announced a temporary change to trading conditions for several cryptocurrency instruments, placing them in close-only mode as part of an upcoming leverage adjustment. The measure, which takes effect on January 15, 2026, applies to seven digital coin symbols traded on Vantage platforms and is intended to prevent the opening of new positions ahead of the update.
According to the broker’s notice, the affected instruments are CRV/USD, LRC/USD, ONE/USD, SUS/USD, UNI/USD, AVA/USD, and ZEC/USD. From the effective date, clients will be able to close existing positions in these symbols but will not be permitted to open new trades until further notice.
Temporary close-only status ahead of leverage update
Vantage Markets said the decision to move the listed digital coin pairs to close-only mode is a precautionary step designed to facilitate a forthcoming leverage adjustment. While the broker did not specify the revised leverage levels or the duration of the restriction, it emphasized that the measure is temporary and focused on maintaining orderly market conditions during the transition.
Close-only status is a standard risk management practice used by brokers when making changes to product specifications. By restricting new position openings, brokers can reduce the risk of unexpected exposure for clients while technical or contractual updates are implemented. Existing positions, however, remain manageable, allowing traders to exit the market at their discretion.
The announcement encourages clients with open positions in the affected symbols to review their exposure and plan accordingly, particularly if leverage changes could alter margin requirements or risk profiles once normal trading resumes.
