World Forex review: Trading platform update streamlines MT5 access
World Forex updated its MetaTrader 5 trading platform on January 17, releasing important information for its users about changes to the company name and trading server name within MT5. The update is part of a technical adjustment aimed at ensuring continuity and clarity across desktop, mobile, and web-based trading environments, with minimal disruption to clients.
- Chosen by 3 200+ local traders in the last 3 months.
- Traders earn on average 12% more per month vs other brokers.
The company said the changes will take effect gradually across platforms, with specific actions required from some users after January 18, 2026.
What is changing on MetaTrader 5
For users of the MT5 desktop terminal on PC, World Forex confirmed that after logging in, traders will see a new server name. During the transition period, the same trading server will appear twice in the server list — under the old and new names — and clients will be able to connect using either option.
However, World Forex emphasized that PC users must download and install the updated MT5 terminal version after January 18, 2026. The installer link has been updated to reflect the new company name. If the new version is installed into the same folder as the existing terminal, all settings and configurations will be preserved.
Mobile users on iOS and Android will not need to take any action. According to the company, the connection will be automatically redirected to the new server name without requiring manual reconfiguration. For WebTerminal users, the only required step will be to re-enter their login and password during the next session.
What traders need to do
World Forex outlined clear instructions based on platform type. PC users should download the new MT5 installer from the updated link and install it over their current version after January 18. WebTerminal users simply need to log in again, while mobile app users can continue trading without any changes.
The company noted that the update does not affect trading conditions, account balances, or open positions.
World Forex positions itself as a broker focused on providing stable trading infrastructure and access to global financial markets through widely used platforms such as MetaTrader 5. Regular technical updates are part of its broader effort to maintain platform reliability and user convenience.
