Bitfinex has outlined details of its ongoing Ethereum (ETH) staking service, where users can earn protocol rewards by staking ETH on the platform. According to the broker, users holding 1 ETH at a price of approximately $2,700 can expect around $70 annually in staking rewards, with distributions paid weekly and an estimated annual yield of up to 3%. The service operates as a soft-staking platform, meaning users do not run their own validators. To participate, ETH holders must opt in and convert their tokens to ETH2, at which point rewards are distributed as ETH2Rewards. There are no minimum staking amounts, but rewards are only paid out if they exceed approximately $0.50 per token per week. Unstaking requires an additional conversion process and may take weeks to months to complete based on Ethereum network timings. ETH staking is unavailable to U.S. residents and certain restricted persons.

Bitfinex is a cryptocurrency exchange that offers trading in a wide range of crypto and fiat currency pairs, with margin trading available at up to 1:10 leverage (up to 1:100 for derivatives). The platform features a proprietary trading terminal, a mobile application, customizable order types, and demo accounts for strategy testing.
