Platform rollout and pricing model
As reported by The Business Standard, citing BDTask, in a press release issued on 17 October, Velexa OMS is a multi-tenant order management system built to deliver separate trading services to multiple brokerage houses through one shared technology infrastructure. The company says the software is aimed at firms that face high costs in developing, buying and maintaining modern trading systems, particularly smaller brokers with limited IT resources.Managing Director Sams Mohammad Tarek said BDTask had spent the past five years developing capital market software to address those constraints. He said each brokerage house would operate its own independent system while the overall setup remains centrally manageable and hosted in a data centre in Bangladesh.
Tarek said the company plans to offer the platform on a subscription basis, with a small fee charged on each transaction instead of requiring upfront investment in trading software. BDTask says the system supports fast order routing, real-time market data and capacity of around 13,000 orders per second.
Market impact and overseas expansion
The platform includes web and mobile trading tools for investors, client onboarding, risk-limit management, account-keeping functions and brokerage operations management. BDTask says it can also connect to stock exchanges and operate with a simulated market, while running across multiple servers to help maintain service continuity if one server encounters a problem.According to the company, client and transaction data remain separate for each brokerage house even when several firms use the same infrastructure. BDTask says this structure also addresses concerns tied to foreign software, including higher costs, limited technical support and potential risks from storing financial data outside Bangladesh.
Director Tanzil Ahmed said the multi-tenant architecture opens international marketing opportunities because a stock exchange or regional technology partner could deploy the platform once and provide services to all member firms. He said BDTask is already in discussions with stock exchanges and brokerage firms in the Middle East, and plans to expand international operations through its Riyadh office.
BDTask, which is a member of BASIS and BACCO, has operated in domestic and international technology markets for more than 12 years. The company says it has developed more than 40 software products across sectors including hospitality, retail, healthcare, fintech, education, airline ticketing and agricultural technology, and employs around 80 people in Dhaka and Riyadh.
