908 Devices is encouraging agencies to seek available state and municipal grant funding for upgrading chemical detection technology.

The company is offering support, including grant justification language and budgetary quotes, to help agencies maximize their chances of securing funds. This initiative aims to enable agencies to modernize critical detection capabilities through external financial support.

Earlier this year, 908 Devices debuted its XplorIR handheld FTIR system aimed at expediting HazMat gas detection for emergency responders, reducing reliance on lab analysis with the new device. The company also demonstrated its chemical detection products during live sessions at the IAFC Hazmat Response Team Conference in Baltimore at a recent industry event. These efforts follow an ongoing push to support agencies in modernizing their detection capabilities.
