  • Long-term support remains intact above the 200-day moving average, with immediate resistance at 504.88.

Short- and medium-term technical weakness amid mixed momentum signals

On the technical front, ZC has slipped below the SMA-20 and SMA-50 on the H1 timeframe, signalling ongoing short- and medium-term weakness, while the price remains supported above the SMA-200 on the daily chart. The Ichimoku Kijun on the daily sits at USX504.88 and acts as immediate resistance, with the current price mid-range for the session. MACD shows a strong sell signal amid low volatility, while ADX suggests trend strength is neutral. RSI indicates an active buy, but both Stochastic RSI and Bull/Bear Power highlight overbought conditions and ongoing buyer dominance. CCI and Awesome Oscillator provide neutral readings, underscoring mixed momentum and increased uncertainty in the near term.

Sideways price bias as downside risk overshadows breakout potential

Looking ahead to the next 2–3 trading days, the expected trading range for corn is likely to remain between USX498.48 and USX505.02, in line with typical volatility relative to current levels. The probability of breaking higher appears very low, while downward movement risk remains high. The base case sees the price moving sideways within this range, with an upside scenario requiring a breakout above immediate resistance and a bearish scenario playing out if support is breached.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees short- and medium-term weakness in corn prices amid mixed signals from technical indicators. He notes that key moving averages point to ongoing uncertainty, with sideways movement likely unless USX504.88 is breached decisively. Downside risk is elevated if support at USX498.48 fails, but the longer-term trend remains intact. Macro factors appear neutral, so no clear case for a strong directional move emerges yet. "I remain moderately constructive for corn in the near term, as long as long-term support holds above USX498.48," Karapetjanc says.

Previously it was reported that Corn futures were expected to remain in a balanced consolidation phase, with technical indicators signaling neutral momentum and limited directional bias. The current analysis confirms this outlook, as mixed technical signals and persistent uncertainty suggest that traders should closely monitor for any shift outside the established USX498.48–USX505.02 range in the coming sessions.
