Ceva sees 6G era moving up

Ceva signals that the emergence of 6G networks is advancing at a faster pace than commonly anticipated. According to Elad Baram, Director of Product Marketing at Ceva, preparations for 2030‑ready network infrastructure demand that silicon foundations be designed starting now, with active work expected in 2026.

Baram outlines in an EDN feature that next-generation wireless technology will require an early and focused approach to hardware development to ensure network readiness when the anticipated 6G era materializes.

Ceva recently launched Bluetooth 6.0 channel sounding with Texas Instruments to enhance device spatial accuracy. The company has also announced plans to convert existing UWB digital key hardware for use in automotive in-cabin radar sensors. Both initiatives reflect continued development of silicon-based wireless technologies alongside Ceva's 6G preparations.
