Police in Aurora, Illinois, responded swiftly to a gunfire incident after receiving real time ShotSpotter alerts provided by SoundThinking.

Officers were able to locate evidence and identify both suspects and a vehicle through video intelligence, resulting in the rapid apprehension of those involved and neutralizing a dangerous situation. The incident underscores the operational role of advanced detection and real time alert systems in modern law enforcement.

Earlier this year, SoundThinking launched ShotSpotter in Goldsboro to provide real-time alerts and actionable intelligence aimed at improving police response times in that city. Separately, the Tempe Police Department adopted SoundThinking CrimeTracer Gen3 to centralize investigative data and streamline case management for its officers. Both deployments highlight police agencies’ ongoing investment in advanced detection and intelligence platforms.
