908 Devices enables Virginia DOC to detect drugs early with MX908 spectrometry in correctional facilities

908 Devices has implemented its MX908 mass spectrometry tool as part of Operation FREE, allowing staff to scan and detect illicit substances in real time. This proactive approach is intended to enhance safety and prevent drug-related incidents by catching contraband before it leads to harm. The deployment reflects a growing trend toward technology-driven security measures in the correctional sector.
908 Devices has previously demonstrated its chemical identification technology at the World Border Security Congress in Vienna. The company also deployed its VipIR and MX908 tools during a simulated mass casualty drill at the University of New Haven. These events highlight ongoing field tests and public demonstrations of its detection systems.
