Pacific Biosciences advances sequencing

Pacific Biosciences of California announces a technology advancement allowing researchers to capture both genetic variation and native methylation in a single sequencing run without additional preparation.

This development, powered by the company’s HiFi sequencing platform, aims to streamline data collection and overcome traditional trade-offs in genomic analysis. The new method could accelerate genetic research and offer more comprehensive insights for clinical and scientific applications.

Pacific Biosciences previously kicked off its PacBioPRISM tour finale in Japan, highlighting new research and advancements in HiFi sequencing technology. The company has also promoted whole genome sequencing as a future standard for newborn care. These moves reflect Pacific Biosciences’ ongoing efforts to expand the applications of its sequencing platforms.
