Bicara Therapeutics Inc. has announced the development of Ficerafusp alfa, the first and only EGFR-directed antibody fused to a TGF-beta ligand trap, engineered for overcoming clinical challenges in first-line recurrent/metastatic (R/M) HPV-negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
The company will present three posters featuring long-term Phase 1b data, including contributions from leading academic partners such as UCLA, during the ASCO26 conference on Saturday, May 30. This advancement may open new paths in the treatment of patients with HPV-negative HNSCC, a segment with limited therapeutic options.
Bicara previously launched the FORTIFI clinical trial targeting first-line recurrent/metastatic HPV-negative HNSCC patients with poor prognosis. The company is also scheduled to present its first quarter 2026 financial results and business update in a public webcast on May 11. Both initiatives reflect Bicara’s ongoing focus on advancing treatment options for this patient population.
