Ouster, Inc. has entered into a partnership with Advantech to enhance urban intersection monitoring by integrating lidar sensors with edge computing capabilities.

The collaboration aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of pedestrian and vehicle detection even in challenging weather conditions like rain, fog, and low light. By leveraging real-time analytics at the edge, cities can make timely decisions without latency, supporting smarter and safer infrastructure deployments.

Ouster, Inc. recently introduced digital lidar technology with grid-based 3D point mapping for enhanced sensing accuracy, according to a prior report. The company also unveiled its Rev8 OS1 sensor in Norway, offering native color and detailed 3D environmental mapping, as noted in a previous announcement. These developments reflect Ouster's continued investment in advanced perception technology.
