Hawaiian Electric restored power overnight to additional customers in Waikiki following a service outage.

Crews continue working to safely complete repairs, with power expected to be restored for the remaining affected customers by approximately 12 p.m. The company clarified that this outage is not related to a Public Safety Power Shutoff. Hawaiian Electric expressed appreciation for customer patience as work progresses toward full service restoration.

Hawaiian Electric has undertaken recent infrastructure work, including plans to close lanes on Kawaihae Street for Ahi substation upgrades affecting East Honolulu traffic. The company also invited local residents to participate in a survey on future clean energy grid strategy. These efforts form part of Hawaiian Electric's ongoing grid maintenance and modernization activities.
