PRGS is trading at $38.42, which places it well above the SMA-20 ($31.85) and SMA-50 ($30.27) and just above the SMA-200 ($37.48) on the daily chart. This indicates a strong bullish bias in the short and medium term, with an improving long-term structure. The Ichimoku Kijun on D1 is at $33.87, sitting below the current price and therefore acting as immediate support. Near-term support is identified at the SMA-200 ($37.48), with key support at the SMA-100 ($32.05). Immediate resistance is at the SMA-5 ($35.63), and key resistance at the Kijun ($33.87).
Momentum is positive on D1, with MACD signaling buy and ADX at 17.13, indicating a trend that is gaining traction but not yet strong. Multiple oscillators including RSI (70.47), Stoch RSI (91.31), CCI (263.81), and BBP (6.08) signal overbought conditions and dominance of buyers. The AO also supports the bullish move. In today’s session, the stock has slipped 1.89%, reversing from recent highs. PRGS is trading at $38.42, up from last week's close of $33.15, reflecting a 15.90% gain in a week of exceptionally high volatility (33.84%), with the price currently in the upper part of the weekly range. This rapid recovery from the recent weekly low suggests a strong upside rebound, but the overbought signals and today’s pullback hint at near-term exhaustion.
For the coming week, the expected trading range is adjusted to $37.00–$40.80 to reflect the current momentum and recent volatility, keeping the price action well above the 52-week low of $23.82 and below the 52-week high of $54.28. Based on W1 indicators (RSI: Buy, MA-50: Sell, MACD: Strong Sell, ADX: Sell), the probability of further gains is very low (less than 20%), making a pullback more likely. The baseline scenario is consolidation between $37.00 and $40.80. A bullish scenario would materialize if the price breaks above $40.80, targeting a move toward the next key resistance, while a bearish scenario could see a move below $37.00, potentially testing support closer to $35.00.
Earlier, analysts noted that Progress Software was under sustained selling pressure, with technical signals pointing toward further downside risks and limited recovery prospects. The current analysis adds a fresh perspective by highlighting any shifts in momentum that could challenge the bearish trend, with investors advised to watch for a decisive breakout above resistance levels as an early sign of a potential reversal.
