Rimini Street warns AI era fuels talk of SaaS apocalypse but Gartner projects enhancement over replacement
Rimini Street rejects SaaS apocalypse

Rimini Street has cautioned that despite rising speculation about an impending SaaS apocalypse driven by the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, most organizations will not be rushing to replace their core enterprise applications with AI-native alternatives.

Instead, referencing findings from Gartner, Rimini Street points to a trend of companies enhancing their existing software with AI capabilities rather than undertaking full replacements. The Gartner report, entitled “Enterprise Applications 2030: How to Respond,” provides further insight into how companies can adapt to the accelerating adoption of AI in the enterprise technology landscape.

Rimini Street previously noted that Oracle will exclude Agentic AI and discontinue support for custom EBS code, potentially prompting organizations to reassess technology plans here. The firm has also cautioned that SAP ECC and S/4HANA on-premises customers face rising pressure as deadlines for AI and cloud adoption approach here. These developments highlight ongoing technology shifts facing enterprise software users.
