OpenAI unveils Student Collective

OpenAI has opened applications for its Student Collective program, targeting undergraduate students who aspire to lead AI initiatives on their campuses.

Selected Campus Leads will collaborate directly with OpenAI and receive hands-on training, funding, credits, branded merchandise, and access to a global network of peers and innovators. The initiative aims to foster AI innovation and leadership development among university students worldwide.

In recent months, OpenAI released GPT-5.6 Luna, a model offering significant improvements in reasoning and a 25-fold reduction in usage costs compared to GPT-5.5. The company has also attracted attention for a potential partnership in which Nvidia may back up to $250 billion of OpenAI obligations linked to a planned Ohio AI data center. These developments highlight OpenAI’s ongoing investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and technology.
