Butterfly Network instant line verification

Butterfly Network introduces a no-wait method for confirming central line placement using point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and cardiac imaging.

The approach features the agitated saline test, commonly called the bubble study, which uses a visible flow of bubbles in the right ventricle to verify venous access. This innovation could reduce delays and improve patient safety in critical care settings, with the shared demonstration highlighting practical steps for clinicians. The initiative received acknowledgment from PeachtreePOCUS for its educational value.

Butterfly Network’s medical technology has previously gained wider exposure through appearances on CBS, HBO Max, and Netflix, according to past reports. Earlier, CMO Arun Nagdev, MD, shared key lessons from two decades of teaching point-of-care ultrasound in a company presentation. These initiatives highlight the firm’s ongoing focus on education and visibility in clinical imaging.
