SoundThinking expands school zone safety effort via RedSpeed and PlateRanger partnership
SoundThinking unveils speed enforcement plan

SoundThinking has announced a partnership with RedSpeed and PlateRanger to offer school-zone speed enforcement solutions with zero upfront cost.

The collaboration also enables agencies to add automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) capabilities, supporting investigations that extend beyond school zones. This partnership aims to address speeding near schools while broadening law enforcement toolkits.

SoundThinking has previously addressed privacy questions as it rolled out PlateRanger technology for law enforcement, pledging transparency in its approach. The company has also called for clear policies and oversight to support the effective use of ALPR technology in law enforcement operations. These past initiatives come as SoundThinking expands its offerings through the new partnership.
