Upside capped as shares meet resistance amid mixed technical posture

Price is sitting right at resistance from the Ichimoku Kijun at $310.12. The chart shows a split daily structure, with shares below the MA-50 and MA-200 but above the MA-20, reflecting mixed technical positioning. Stoch RSI is in overbought territory, which limits room for further upside and highlights a stretched short-term condition.

Odds tilt lower as traders eye resistance and unsustained trend

To gauge whether the recent move is being sustained, traders should watch for a close above $310.12. Shares have pushed through the weekly high at $303.8 and are setting a new high for the week. Over the next five trading days, there is a 45% probability of further upside and a 55% probability of a move lower, with an expected trading range of $297.72 to $320.45. Even so, the recent move has been sharp and to the upside, but has not established a sustained trend. A close above the resistance would confirm buyers are following through, while a drop below the $303.8 level would indicate the move is being faded. On the weekly chart, the longer-term picture remains negative.

Earlier, analysts noted that despite Cadence Design Systems' advancements in AI-driven semiconductor design automation, the company's overall technical outlook remained weak. The latest expansion of its partnership with TSMC adds significant strategic breadth, and with shares now challenging key short-term resistance, traders should monitor whether a close above $310.12 confirms momentum or if a reversal below $303.8 signals renewed downside risk.
