  • Fitch affirmed the ratings on BPAA's previously issued bonds through the OBG program, indicating no material weakening in the issuer's financial position.
  • The 'AA' rating and Stable Outlook reflect strong credit quality, low default risk, and expectations of continued performance strength under current market conditions.

New rating under obligation guarantee program

As reported by Fitch Ratings, the agency assigned an 'AA' rating with a Stable Outlook to BPAA's newest bond issuance under its newly established Obligation Guarantee, or OBG, program. Fitch also affirmed the ratings on other existing bonds issued through the same program.

The rating action signals a high degree of confidence in BPAA's capacity to meet its financial obligations on the bonds. Fitch says the combination of issuer stability and favorable market conditions supports the strong credit profile of both the new and previously rated debt.

Credit profile backed by market conditions

The affirmation of outstanding bonds suggests no material weakening in the issuer's financial position within the OBG structure. Instead, the latest action points to continuity in BPAA's performance as it adds new issuance under the program.

For bond investors, an 'AA' rating typically indicates very strong credit quality and a low expectation of default risk relative to lower-rated instruments. In this case, Fitch's Stable Outlook further suggests that the current operating and market environment is not expected to materially alter BPAA's rating position in the near term.

In our earlier coverage of Fitch’s BBB- rating on Hainan Rubber’s proposed subordinated perpetual securities, we explained how the notes’ lower ranking in the capital structure and coupon deferral option drove the rating to sit below the issuer level. We also highlighted Fitch’s view on the group’s leverage and liquidity position, alongside the role of state-linked support in underpinning funding access.
