Ledger introduces Atom device with physical privacy switch for camera and microphone
Ledger launches Atom privacy device

Ledger has announced the launch of Atom, a device equipped with a hardware-based Privacy Switch that physically disconnects the camera and microphone at the circuit level.

This feature is designed to provide users with enhanced security, preventing software-based attacks or malware from accessing these components even if device software is compromised.

Earlier this year, Ledger set up an XRP Ledger Hackathon in New York, offering $10,000 in bounties and devices to encourage security innovations. The company also paused device sales in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong as it continued an investigation in those markets. Both developments reflect Ledger’s ongoing focus on security and regional operations.
