Hyderabad to add 60-70 offshore tech centres in 2027
Hyderabad tech boom 2027

Hyderabad is expected to deepen its role as an offshore technology hub for multinational companies in 2027 with a new wave of global capability centres. The projected additions underline rising competition with Bengaluru for corporate tech investment, even as Bengaluru remains India’s largest market for such centres.

Highlights

  • Hyderabad is slated to add 60 to 70 global capability centres for multinational companies in 2027, according to ANSR.
  • Banking and financial services firms will account for 30% of new tech centres planned in Hyderabad, reinforcing sectoral demand.
  • Hyderabad, which already hosts over 500 such centres, is increasingly preferred over Bengaluru, which currently has more than 1,100 centres.

2027 expansion outlook for Hyderabad

As reported by Reuters, citing ANSR, India’s southern city of Hyderabad will add 60 to 70 global capability centres, or offshore technology hubs of multinational companies, in 2027. The consultancy said banking and financial services firms will account for 30% of the new centres planned for the city.

ANSR, which has helped multinational companies including Costco, Charles Schwab, Marriott and Target set up centres in India over the years, said Hyderabad is now the preferred choice over Bengaluru for new tech hubs. The firm counts global IT company Accenture Plc among its investors.

Competition with Bengaluru intensifies

Hyderabad already has more than 500 global capability centres, according to a Telangana government press release issued last month. Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, has more than 1,100 such centres, according to the Karnataka state government in July.

The comparison highlights Hyderabad’s growing appeal within India’s technology services and offshore operations sector. For companies expanding back-office, engineering and digital support functions, the city’s projected pipeline suggests continued momentum in attracting new corporate investment.
