Split structure holds as shares stall near MA-20 support

Price is testing support from MA-20 at $176.07 without a decisive move through it. Shares of First Solar trade in a split daily structure, holding above MA-20 but remaining below both the MA-50 and MA-200. The Stoch RSI is approaching overbought territory, suggesting the advance is starting to look stretched.

Downside odds rise as traders watch closes near $177.75

Traders should watch if price can close above $177.75 to gauge whether buying interest will follow through. Shares have moved up to test support from MA-20 at $176.07 but have not yet broken above it. Over the next five trading days, there is a 37% probability of upside and a 63% probability of downside, with an expected trading range between $171.69 and $182.08. Even so, while there has been an emerging move higher in the past week, the forward odds are tilted to the downside from here. A close above $177.75 would confirm buyers taking control, while a drop below $176.07 would suggest the move is being faded. On the weekly chart the longer-term picture stays negative.

Earlier, analysts noted that First Solar’s shift of Series 6 Plus module production to its new South Carolina facility represented an operational catalyst, but that upside depended on the shares overcoming near-term resistance. With the first phase now inaugurated and shares near technical inflection levels, traders should monitor whether a decisive close above $177.75 materializes, as this would suggest buyers are gaining control despite prevailing downside odds.
