Audi Revolut F1 enters Formula 1 with Nexo alliance
Formula 1 newcomer Audi Revolut F1 Team has signed a four-year partnership agreement with crypto platform Nexo, aiming to revolutionize the use of digital assets in elite motorsport.
Founded in 2018 with the involvement of TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, Nexo is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, and manages approximately $11 billion in assets. The platform provides a broad range of cryptocurrency-related financial services.
These include crypto-backed lending, staking and interest-bearing accounts, trading of more than 100 cryptocurrencies via the proprietary Nexo Exchange, support for its own crypto card, as well as corporate accounts and business solutions with institutional-grade portfolio management.
Following a recent rebrand, Nexo positions itself as a “digital assets wealth platform.” Its alliance with Audi Revolut F1 reflects the gradual integration of digital assets into motorsport, without triggering immediate market shifts or direct influence on specific cryptocurrencies.
Convergence of technological innovation
Audi’s partnership with Nexo also aligns with the current Formula 1 regulations, which emphasize sustainability by mandating 50% electrification and the use of environmentally friendly fuels—highlighting the sport’s evolving priorities.
At the same time, Audi Revolut F1 Team is a new Formula 1 entrant formed on the basis of the Sauber structure by automaker Audi and fintech company Revolut. The 2026 season will mark its debut in Formula 1. The official unveiling of the team, its logo, and its race car is scheduled for January 20, 2026, in Berlin, ahead of the season’s start.
“As we prepare to enter Formula 1, we are extremely selective when choosing partners for this journey. We are proud to welcome Nexo as our official digital assets partner at a time of strong growth for both organizations. The partnership reflects a shared ambition to scale with discipline and innovation, while creating tangible value—from exclusive experiences to new ways of engaging our global fan base and Nexo’s clients,” said Stefano Battiston, Chief Commercial Officer of Audi Revolut F1 Team.
Audi’s entry into the digital assets space marks a new chapter in the brand’s rich history, coinciding with its Formula 1 debut—long associated with technological progress in motorsport.
Financial analysts at Coincu suggest that such collaborations may signal a forthcoming increase in cryptocurrency involvement in motorsport. While specific financial terms were not disclosed, the partnership highlights the growing intersection between digital finance and traditional industries. As Formula 1 continues to adapt to modern technological trends, strategic alliances like this could pave the way for broader institutional adoption of digital assets.
